Terms

These are the terms between you and Pinbora, in plain English. By creating an account, or by adding picks or answers without one, you agree to them and to the privacy policy.

The deal

Pinbora is free and for personal use: a map of places recommended by people you know, asks to your friends, and boards for planning trips together. It is run by its founder, in Australia. Contact: hello@pinbora.com.

Your account

• You must be 16 or over.
• One person per account. Keep your sign-in to yourself; what is done with your account is done by you.
• You can delete your account at any time from your pop-up (Your data). It goes at once.

Your content

• What you add is yours.
• You give Pinbora permission to store it and to show it to the people you choose inside the app: your friends, the people who follow you if your page is on, the tripmates on a board you are on, and the person whose ask or question you answered. Also to draw the pictures you ask for, such as your shareable card. Nothing else, and never in advertising.
• Delete a pick, a trip or your account and that permission ends with it.

The rules

• Real places, and your own honest opinion of them.
• Never a paid, sponsored or traded recommendation. Public signals on Pinbora cannot be bought, by anyone.
• Tag only people who were actually there.
• Nothing unlawful, hateful, or that is not yours to share.
• No scraping, automated access, or reselling of what other people shared with you.
• Do not pretend to be someone else.

Other people's picks

A pick is the opinion of the person who gave it, at the time they gave it. We do not check them. Places close, change hands and have off nights: check before you go, and book with the venue, not with us.

The map

Map data comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and MapTiler, and venue search from Komoot Photon and OpenStreetMap Nominatim, under their own terms. Directions and “open in Google Maps” links take you to Google, under Google's terms.

What we promise, and what we cannot

• We run Pinbora with care and keep your data as the privacy policy says.
• Pinbora is free and may change: we can add, change, pause or stop features, and we tell you when it matters.
• Beyond that, Pinbora is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we make no other promises and are not liable for loss that comes from using it, including a place that was not as recommended. Nothing here excludes rights the Australian Consumer Law or your local consumer law gives you.

Ending

You can leave any time by deleting your account. We can close an account that breaks these rules, telling you why where we can.

Changes and the law

When these terms change, the date at the top changes, and we email you about a change that matters. Using Pinbora after that means you accept it. These terms are governed by Australian law, and the courts of the state where Pinbora is operated.
